Have you ever experienced that dry, itchy sensation after your morning shower?
I have.
I am Leila and I will explore various skincare topics and how to alleviate bothersome conditions.
Transitioning from a pharmacist to a soapmaker, skincare has become a passion as it allows me to create, educate and become an advocate for natural remedies for dry skin.

Edible Ingredients in Soaps?
In this blog, I will discuss 4 delicious foods I include in our moisturizing soaps.
Avocado
Avocados, which are considered a fruit, are packed with nutrients. Important nutrients include vitamins C, E, K, and B6, as well as biotin, which is known to help alleviate dry skin.
Besides offering numerous health benefits when eaten, avocados also contribute to a rich, creamy, moisturizing lather in soaps, making them ideal for dry skin.
Cucumber
Regarded as a fruit, it is low in calories and extremely hydrating.
The high water content and essential vitamins in cucumbers make them perfect for dry skin relief. Eat them often.
Cucumbers in soap?
When added to our soaps, cucumbers give a refreshing, bubbly lather that is soothing to dry skin.

Papaya
A tropical fruit that works hard to reduce inflammation and fight diseases. The vitamin C and lycopene in papaya helps to reduce wrinkling, sagging and dry skin.
Our papaya soap provides gently exfoliation with a rich, creamy lather, ideal for dry skin.
Pumpkin
A delicious fall vegetable high in vitamins A and C, both of which gives a boost to the immune system. Fall is a great time to prepare the body and its' outer layer (the skin) for the drier winter weather.
Our pumpkin soap is made with pureed pumpkin and it is moisturizing and suitable for all skin types.
Although adding foods to soap won't offer the same nutritional benefits as eating them, these additions contribute to luxury, richness, and extra moisturizing properties, helping to treat dry skin.
In the next issue, I will discuss Clay Face Masks for dry and oily skin.
